Meet our new Marketing & Account Executive, Kate Ballantyne.
Tell us a bit about your professional background and how you ended up at Pogo Studio.
I recently graduated, but I have some marketing experience in my academic history. I did marketing for a student led publication at Uni, and with an organisation that I set up, as well as a marketing internship for a start-up down in London.
I wrote my dissertation about social media, marketing and aspects of digital health, which is what drew me into applying for Pogo. I looked more into it, and it looked really interesting, so here I am!
What’s the best thing about working for Pogo?
So far all the people have been lovely, it’s nice to work in such a small team where everybody is so friendly. I like the variety in the role so far. I have a lot of friends who are doing graduate roles where they’re doing the same thing day in day out, so it’s nice not to be in that boat.
What’s the most difficult thing about working for Pogo?
Getting up at 7 in the morning?? Nothing has been too hard so far, but I’m sure there will be challenges down the line and I’ll take them as they come.
You have a magic wand which will transport you anywhere in the world; where are you going?
Oh… Um probably to the Alps, specifically in winter but any time is fine. To one of the ski resorts.
Complete this sentence: Working in digital is…
…exciting, varied. It’s nice to do something where developments are being made all the time.
You’re at the Pogo Christmas do. What’s your party trick?
I can move one of my eyes without moving the other one. It’s not something that anybody ever wants to see, but it’s one of my talents.
One small mistake you made in the past, which haunts you to this day…
That’s a difficult one! I mean, calling my teacher Mum probably? I’m sure everybody has done that at some point…
What’s on your bedside table right now?
I have a book about Scottish Munros, a Japanese peace lily and a picture of my family.
Finally: office budgie – yes or no?
Absolutely yes!
